Big Red Bash Birdsville

Big Red Bash Birdsville

Big Red Bash Birdsville 10 – 12 July 2018

The Big Red Bash, Birdsville is Outback Queensland’s signature event.

Developed by Greg Donovan and his family in 2013 the event pioneered hosting a large scale music event in one of the most desolate and remote areas of Australia. While Birdsville and “Big Red” the natural sand dune where The Big Red Bash Birdsville is hosted are both iconic and on most Aussies bucket list hosting a full scale music festival there is quite an achievement but it certainly did not stop there.

Greg Donovan is what you might describe as a trail blazer, and the trail he and his family have blazed has spread far and wide and has helped and supported many struggling outback Queensland businesses, people and towns all along the way. Unlike many people who run successful events or businesses Greg Donovan is a friendly, inclusive, supportive, open and genuine person that is only too happy to share his experiences, what has worked, what has not.

Things are tough in all small towns in Queensland’s outback and the Big Red Bash Birdsville event attracts a new dynamic of people to Outback Queensland and thought the towns on the way as they travel to and from their destinations to Birdsville for this great event.

Greg and his team have encouraged towns along the way to offer unique events or functions for travellers to experience and each year the Big Red Bash Birdsville brings a smile to outback faces and a positive glow to the outback as it comes alive for what is a 4 month tourist season where jobs are created and lives are changed.
