About Jennifer Wilson
Jen Wilson has had a passion for singing since a young age, but it wasn’t until she moved to Queensland in 2000 to take up a job at Griffith University as a lecturer that she had the opportunity to follow her heart.
She started out at this time singing with a Mt Tamborine local choir, the Evolution Choir and then in 2006 started singing with Tamborine Voices and having singing lessons with Tania Edmunds from Opera Eagles Nest.
During her training, Jen entered Beenleigh and Brisbane Eisteddfods several times in the open age section as a soloist and as a member of Tamborine Voices and has won or placed in every section she has participated in.
She has obtained her Trinity London Foundation and Intermediate Performance Certificates. She has had a long association with Opera Eagles Nest and started singing with them as their alto regularly in 2019, touring through South-West Queensland to Cunnamulla, Laidley, Goondiwindi, St George, Roma, Stanthorpe, Esk, and Mt Tamborine.
This is where her and her husband Ian met Peieta Mills at Club Boutique Hotel and formed an alliance to work together to bring a week of fun interactive music and singing lessons and shows to Cunnamulla.
Jen also sings for the auditioned Brisbane Chamber Choir, Choral Connection and runs a pop-up choir on Mt Tamborine, The Gatehouse Singers and conducts the Xmas choir for the local Anglican Church.
She is thrilled to be coming to Cunnamulla and hopes to sing with as many community members and schools as possible, to spread the joy and fun of singing. Besides her love of classical music, she loves singing music from the musicals, both old and new.
