Whilst you relax in these beautiful pools you can look out at the beautiful Warrego River. My favourite time to go is sunset, there is truly nothing like watching Cunnamulla’s incredible sunset from this location. The Cunnamulla Hot Springs complex features seven pools, each maintained at a constant temperature, making it a perfect year-round attraction.
Artesian Mud Baths Eulo
Just a short 45-minute drive from Cunnamulla, you’ll find the Eulo Mud Baths. This experience is truly one like no other. There is something so relaxing about sitting in a mud bath, sipping wine and gossiping. It’s a place you won’t want to leave. The mud is said to detoxify the skin, relieve muscle aches, and leave you feeling refreshed. So, you wont just get a cool experience out of it, you can go back home feeling better than ever.
Warrego River Walk
Take a stroll along the Warrego River Walk, a scenic path that winds along the riverbank. This easy trail offers stunning views of the local flora and fauna. Make sure to keep an eye out for native birds and animals that call this area home. As the sun sets, the riverbanks come alive with the sights and sounds of the outback, creating a magical atmosphere you won’t forget.

There is always something going on in Cunnamulla, it is truly a town that never sleeps. Whether it’s the town Christmas party, a drag night, gallery opening, social bowls, or a pool comp, there is always something exciting happening in this small town. The Cunnamulla Fella Roundup, held annually in August, celebrates the town’s outback heritage with rodeo events, live music, and bush poetry. Other notable events include the Outback River Lights Festival, which transforms the Warrego River into a spectacular light show. In 2025 a couple of other events that you should look out for when planning your trip are Club Boutique Hotel will host amazing musician Sue Ray as part of the Qld Music Trails and St Catherines Sacred Heart Cunnamulla 110 Year Reunion will be an event wort marking on your calendar.
Charlotte Plains
And of course I can’t leave out my favourite outback experience, a visit to Charlotte Plains station. Just a short 45-minute drive from Cunnamulla, Charlotte Plains Station offers a truly unique and relaxing experience in the heart of the Outback. Known for its natural artesian hot springs, this charming working station provides visitors with the chance to soak in private, secluded baths surrounded by stunning desert landscapes.
The mineral-rich waters are perfect for soothing tired muscles and unwinding in total peace. You can even bring your own wine and platter to enjoy while you relax in the warmth of the bath, making it the perfect setting for a girls’ trip. It’s almost hard to believe a private bath is only $30p.p! This experience is definitely worth a lot more. My friends and I did the private bath, and it was definitely worth it. Whether you’re soaking under the wide, open sky during the day or stargazing at night, Charlotte Plains Station offers an unforgettable Outback retreat.

My top tips are to definitely do a little a little planning prior to departure as some of the attractions are seasonal and you don’t want to make the big trip and not be able to access the experience. Prior bookings can sometimes provide a small saving if a promotion or bonus are being offered. The most important always have a full tank of fuel, drive to the conditions, carry plenty of water and never, ever, ever leave your vehicle in an accident or a breakdown.
